CM Rawat participate in Puranic Bagwal Balraj Mela at Buddha Kedar Dham In Tehri

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat participated in the concluding function of Shri Guru Kailapeer Devta Puranic Bagwal Balraj Mela -2018 at Buddha Kedar Dham (Tehri) on Sunday. Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that ‘Puranic’ fairs are part of our identity.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat announced construction of ‘Sangam Astha Path’ at a cost of Rs 1.32 crore, running of roadways buses in the area, making Shri Guru Kailapeer Devta Puranic Bagwal Balraj Mela as a government fair, sending the demand of making Balganga as a development block to ‘Niti Ayog’, survey of Bhatwari- Buddja Kedar road and taking over of Balganga Sandul College by the state government .

Chief Minister said that the state government is making special efforts for the development of the far off places and a plan for the development of Buddha Kedar area will also be formulated. Chief Minister said that investors from India and abroad have pledged to invest 1 lakh 25 thousand crores in Uttarakhand during the ‘Investors Summit’ held at Dehradun on October 7 & 8, out of which Rs 23 thousand crores of investment will be made in the hilly areas. He said that several agreements have been done to promote tourist activities at Tehri lake and some are in the pipeline. He said that if some big institutes come to invest near Tehri lake than the possibilities of home stay facilities in the area will also increase.

Giving information about possibilities of employment opportunities from Pine needles, Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that with commercial use of pine trees, bio-diesel, turpentine oil, tar coal and power generation from its residue will be done. He said that such experiments are being carried out in Pithoragarh.

The Chief Minister said that since there is lot of ‘Pirul’ ( pine needle) in Tehri, the women can organize then selves in self-help groups and can do this and the government could provide training to them. He said that the state government is formulating a scheme to purchase ‘Pirul’ and leaves of ‘Devdar’ trees. Apart from gas, the leaves could be used as a fuel. He said that 150 MW of power could be generated from ‘Pirul’ only in the state. Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that farmers can have fish farms to breed trout fish which sells at a higher rate. He also encouraged the farmers for Damask rose cultivation. On this occasion, Tehri MP Mala Raj Luxmi Shah also announced a grant of Rs the lakhs for Buddha Kedar Dham. Zila Panchayt Chief Sona Sajwan,Ghansali MLA Shakti Lal Shah, Mela Committee Chief Bhupneder Singh Negi, former MLA Balbir Singh Negi, Sanjay Negi and Anand Bist were present on the occasion.
